Getting your ears pierced is an exciting and special event. At Neves Jewelers, we offer FREE ear piercing with your purchase of starter earrings! Now, before making your appointment, let's cover a few things you should know.
Some cultures pierce almost immediately when children are babies.
Most children start asking around 9 or 10 to have their ears pierced, as their peers at school begin to have theirs done.
In general, age varies and it's up to you and your child to know when the time is right - just be sure you and your child are aware of the responsibility to care for ear piercings.
If you want to have your baby's ears pierced, it's a good idea to consult with your pediatrician ahead of time.
The minimum age at Neves Jewelers is 6 months old.
What is the process?
First, call or stop in to schedule your appointment.
When you come in, pick your favorite pair of starter earrings from our wide selection of 14k gold and stainless steel options.
Each starter pair comes presterilized, wrapped and sealed individually.
Two qualified specialists perform the piercing simultaneously. Why? This allows for a quick and swift piercing, minimizing any fears your little one may have.
The ears will be cleaned with an alcohol swab, then gently marked to make sure you're happy with the piercing placement.
Finally, the piercing is conducted followed by lollipops and a 'Brave Kid' certificate is awarded!
How do you care for and clean newly pierced ears?
Earrings must stay in for at least 6-8 weeks to prevent the holes from closing.
Clean the piercings twice a day with a sterile saline solution made for wound care and clean cotton swabs. It is crucial to do this to prevent infection. *Neves Jewelers carries the antiseptic solution right in stores!
Turn the earrings a few times a day to avoid scar tissue. Note - make sure to always have clean hands when turning.
Detailed aftercare instructions are provided upon purchase.
